The Natural Way To Replace Volume
Treatment with Allofill is simple and everlasting*. It is performed within minutes in a outpatient non-invasive setting in our Ridgewood, New Jersey office. With this brand new procedure you only experience half of the downtime from traditional fat transfer.
Allofill is for patients that don’t have the 10+ days to recover from a full facial fat transfer or do not have enough fat on their body to harvest. This new generation of filler stimulates fat to grow in a controlled amount precisely where it is injected, and thus, restores lost facial fat without a fat transfer. In most cases, the procedure can be performed with minimal swelling and bruising with minimal to no downtime.
Dr. James Goodnight has been working for over two decades with tumescent liposuction technique, which has been proven in the community to minimize bruising and swelling. He is the pioneer of using tumescent technique to restore facial volume and balance lost due to aging.
What is Allofill?
Allofill is made from naturally occurring allograft fat tissue and can be used to fill soft-tissue defects as a noninvasive alternative to surgical fat grafting with your own tissue. Conventional fat transfer involves a surgical liposuction procedure which can be a painful and costly and require additional recovery time. In a typical fat grafting procedure fat is harvested from one part of your body and is injected into another part of your body or face. With Allofill harvesting your own fat isn’t necessary since Allofill is ready to use off the shelf and can be applied in a simple and easy procedure.
How Allofill Works
Allofill is injected under your skin to immediately fill soft tissue defects caused by fat loss. Fat loss can occur through the natural aging process, extreme weight loss or from the surgical removal of tissue, and can affect the volume, balance and shape of your face and body. Facial fat loss can contribute to the appearance of an aging face.
Allofill works with your body and provides an all-natural tissue scaffold which will populate with your own cells and blood vessels to cushion and support your skin. As your body goes through its natural healing process, Allofill will gradually be remodeled into normal soft tissue by your body.
Treatment with Allofill
Dr. Goodnight will review your concerns and determine if you are a good candidate. He will also analyze your medical history and review any potential risks associated with Allofill treatment.
Allofill is administered by injection using minimally invasive technique. To minimize your discomfort during the procedure, Dr. Goodnight may want to use an anesthetic to numb the injection site.
Results with Allofill are immediate and you will see changes to the areas injected by your doctor when the procedure is complete. Icing of the injection area will help lessen the swelling and allow you to return to your normal routine nearly immediately. Typically we encourage you to schedule a follow-up visit after your first treatment to assess your results and determine if a touch-up is necessary.
As with all injectable procedures, mild swelling, redness, and bruising may occur at the injection site. Icing will help reduce this irritation.
Dr. Goodnight has been using the original Allofill formulation since December 2016. Results vary depending on the area injected. When stem cell peptides are added to the Allofill, all the Allofill is eventually replaced by fat. In the lips only 1/6 of the product seems to stay indefinitely probably due to the excessive motion in that area. Those who drink heavily on a daily basis get the least results as if the alcohol is actually killing the newly growing fat cells or otherwise hindering their growth through the multiple hormonal alterations produced by excessive alcohol consumption. Allofill is still the best long term filler for the lips and around the eyes, but it requires at least 3 injections every 3 months for great results. The company is reformulating the product as Allofill + in a 20 cc syringe instead of 3 cc with the hopes to make it even more effective and less costly. If it becomes more effective and available in larger syringes then it may replace facial fat transfer in the future. It is best to inject no more than 10 cc in the face per treatment so as not to cause malar edema which is a prolonged swelling under the eyes. Thus, it will always require at least 3 treatments for optimal results.
