Dr. Goodnight offers years of experience and unmatched expertise in laser procedures. After an intensive evaluation of your skin and an in-depth discussion about the cosmetic changes you want to achieve, your laser procedure delivers results you will love.
We offer a wide range of laser treatments. Here’s a rundown of what to expect from five of our most popular procedures.
Ablative laser skin resurfacing
During ablative resurfacing, the laser precisely removes one or more layers of your skin. Your recovery and results depend on the depth of the skin removed.
Superficial treatments that only remove the outer layer refresh your appearance and improve your skin’s tone and texture. Afterward, your skin temporarily looks sunburned, but you don’t need downtime.
Ablative resurfacing that goes deeper and removes several layers of skin requires anesthesia and a longer recovery. Your face will be swollen for 5-7 days, so you need to take about a week off from work. Additionally, your face will be pink for about two months.
However, deep resurfacing produces dramatic results. As fresh skin regrows, scars, fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage virtually disappear.
Nonablative laser skin resurfacing
This laser procedure doesn’t affect your skin. Instead, the laser travels safely through your skin and targets structures below the surface, where controlled heat from the laser triggers collagen and elastin production.
As you naturally shed the top layer of skin, your new skin is rich in collagen and elastin. As a result, it’s stronger, tighter, and features a more even tone. Though it takes a few months to see the full results, nonablative laser resurfacing diminishes the appearance of dark spots, scars, lines, and wrinkles.
Nonablative laser treatments are so gentle you don’t need to worry about time to recover. Your skin may be a little red for a short time, but you can cover it with makeup. After this laser procedure, you can immediately go back to work and your usual activities.
Laser hair removal
Laser hair removal works differently than laser skin resurfacing. The laser we use for hair removal specifically targets the dark color of the hair follicles. The heat from the laser goes directly into the follicle, killing it and stopping hair growth. It leaves the surrounding skin unharmed.
After a laser hair removal procedure, the treated area may get slightly swollen and red. This normal reaction should only last a few hours.
Laser liposculpting
Smartlipo® laser liposculpting takes old-fashioned liposuction to the next level. The Smartlipo device liquefies the targeted fat before gently suctioning it out of your body. While the Smartlipo eliminates fat, the laser also tightens the skin above the area being treated, improves the appearance of cellulite, and restores your body’s contours.
This laser procedure only requires a local anesthetic and a small incision. As a result, most people experience mild bruising that goes away within a few weeks. You should be able to return to work and resume all your usual activities in 1-3 days. The full results of laser liposculpting emerge in 8-12 weeks.
Laser eyelid lift
When you decide it’s time to tighten and reshape your eyelids, choose a laser eyelid lift. The LightScalpel® CO2 laser is incredibly precise and gives us the ability to perform your eyelid lift with pinpoint accuracy.
Beyond precision, laser eyelid surgery means you experience:
- Less bleeding
- Less post-op swelling
- Minimal swelling and discomfort
- Lower risk of infection
Though everyone heals at a different rate, your recovery from laser eyelid surgery is faster than traditional surgery.
